November 21stMúsica Buena: Canciones de Amor/Songs of Love
with Rob Martinez
This event will be livestreamed on Zoom. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
A live performance and conversation with Rob Martínez highlighting themes of love, in all of its aspects, within the New Mexican Hispano folk music traditions.
Join State Historian Rob Martínez as he mines the rich music traditions of New Mexico to present romantic music through the centuries. New Mexican, Mexican, Spanish, American and other music forms will be explored, with voice and guitar. Inditas and other folk traditions will show the deep and universal themes of love lost and found, romance and hope.
The concert is held in conjunction with the two concurrent exhibitions Música Buena: Hispano Folk Music of New Mexico (in the Hispanic Heritage Wing at MOIFA) and Música Buena: Celebrating Music in New Mexico (in the WOW Van).
