Engine is back in New Mexico to perform an intimate, soulful and explosive concert.

Cumbia, rock and blues. The Franco-Argentinean trio will present songs from all their albums, including its unreleased new EP Fuego.

Cut off from the stage by the pandemic, the band used the moment to create a fully new set of songs and sounds, diving deeper into the compositions and arrangements of a studio work, without being influenced by the necessities of a live show. With an increased maturity, the compositions offer a vast exploration of the rich Latino-American music identities, including Cumbia, Bossa Nova, Cuban Tumbao, Andean music, Afro-brasilian rhythms from Bahia, Colombian champeta and Argentinean Rock and pop, relying on the solidity, creativity and differing backgrounds of each player.

On this musical base, articulated around sharp grooves and melodies, the band has shaped a unique place for powerful lyrics of rebellion and love, a deep and intimate journey inside Alejandro’s words and visions, always articulated around the power of the trio’s voices in harmony. To add spice to the mix will be the encounter of this raw material with modern sounds and techniques, where keyboards, samplers and effects dialogue with the heavy skins and woods of the drums and percussions, the vibrating strings of the bass, the hypnotic lines of the guitar and the sophisticated voices and harmonica sounds.

As far as this year took us from stage and tours, we wanted to render something that has the power of a concert of Engine, but transformed and shaped for the ears and the ears only—assuming that it can, from there, reach your souls, even with the eyes closed, and get you dancing with strangers.
