The Texas Troubadours tour celebrates the great songwriting tradition of The Lone Star State, and features Ruthie Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Carrie Rodriguez—three Texas-based artists who are known around the globe for their excellent songs and their distinctive voices. Each one is a great, critically acclaimed performer in their own right, and Texas Troubadours showcases all of them together on stage for the first time, swapping songs and collaborating on each other's material.  This world-premiere presentation will be a rare treat for fans of all three singers, for fans of Texas music, and for fans of great songwriting.

Ruthie's last three albums have been Grammy-nominated, and she has won numerous Austin Music Awards (including for Best Female Vocalist) and Blues Music Awards. Ruthie comes from the tiny town of Gause (population 400), did a tour of duty in the US Navy, and currently lives in Austin.

Jimmie Dale is a native of the Texas Panhandle and, along with Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, founded legendary band The Flatlanders back in 1972.  He has also been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, and Rolling Stone magazine has twice named him Country Artist of the Year. As an actor, he appeared in the hit film "The Big Lebowski," portraying a bowler named Smokey.

Carrie, the daughter of Texan singer-songwriter David Rodriguez released her critically acclaimed album Lola in February. Named one of NPR's top 30 releases of 2016, the album is inspired by the 1940s-era recording of Carrie's great-aunt, Chicana singing sensation Eva Garza.
