Eliza Rickman [web site | Amazon.com] is one of those bright young artists that are perfectly suited for the intimate environment of a house concert.  Her debut EP, Gild the Lily, features her stunningly clear vocals and an antique toy piano, an instrument she also features in concert (its much easier to travel with than a full piano).

With only an EP and a couple of stunning videos under her belt, she used Kickstarter to raise the funds for her next album, and her rabid fanbase, acquired through relentless touring, helped raise 207% of the initial goal.  The new album promises a lush, orchestral experience including bass, percussion and strings.

This solo performance promises a mix of songs on toy piano, digital piano, and layered songs featuring a miscellany of percussion and other vocal sounds.  Eliza's music is a playful mix of traditional folk, gothic weirdness, and crystal-clear vocals, blended together with an impressive musicality.  Imagine if Tim Burton (of The Nightmare Before Christmas) and Annie Haslam (lead vocalist of Renaissance) had a love-child--the result would be something like Eliza Rickman.

Like all our house concerts, food and drink will be provided, but additional goodies are always welcome.
