Los Jaraneros del Valle are a South Valley group who play acoustic Mexican regional folk music known as jarocho. Their name comes from the jarana, a small guitar-type instrument with five strummed sets of strings, several of them doubled, to create the rhythmic heartbeat of son jarocho. Another key feature of the music is the harp, which creates beautiful accents to the driving rhythms. Los Jaraneros consist of Victor Padilla (harp, requinto jarocho), Leona Maria (jarana segunda) and Antonio Aragon (jarana tercera, a small Mexican guitar). The music is driving and lively. "La Bamba" is the most popular jarocha song of all time.
Duo Metamorfos - Led by songwriter Casey Mráz, Duo Metamorfos crosses musical boundaries of Psychedelic World Fusion and Desert Americans with fiery accordion solos, blazing charango repiques and gritty guitar riffs. Joined by percussionist David Flores.
Conservation Carnivale, our favorite environmentally-themed mobile circus, will be on hand with a performance and their interactive Green Machine.
Planet Music is an interactive booth that showcases musical instruments from around the world. Anyone and everyone is welcome to play the instruments and explore sounds from around the globe. Hosted by musician and music lover Casey Mráz.
