Albuquerque-based band Los Radiators has been playing acoustic variety music in central New Mexico for a few decades. Their super-sized repertoire includes jazz, blues, folk, Motown, country, and world music. Abby Maxwell fronts the band on vocals, hand-percussion, and vocalese coronet. Abby was #11 of 11 kids in a musical family with multicultural roots from Newport, RI.  She cut her teeth in musical theater (Boston) and soul and blues (Chicago & San Diego). Rick Dorin plays fingerstyle acoustic and electric guitars. He was born and raised in San Francisco Bay Area and is a wilderness enthusiast and professor of endocrinology. Abby & Rick also perform with local Motown, jazz, and oldies dance band SWAG.

Rounding out the trio on Thursday (April 23) is John Bartlit (percussion). John is a musical wizard from Los Alamos. He is a teacher, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and first call on drums, percussion, vibraphone, marimba, etc. for visiting musicians from around the world. And he keeps the beat for a host of local bands, including Skümbaag, Entourage, Bert Dalton trio, NM Marimba Band, Right About Now, and Daniel Ward.

Thanks to the New Mexico Music Commission and the Friends of the Public Library for funding these library shows!
