Join us in kicking off our Día de los Muertos celebrations here at the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House Museum and for the opening of our annual exhibition and ofrendas comunitarias (community alters). Muertos y Marigolds will also be on hand to provide a blessing, guided tour, and information about their annual Día de los Muertos workshop series. Enjoy dancing, live music with Tíos Míos, face painting, crafts, and light refreshments provided by the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House Alliance!
Tíos Míos is Sones del Rio & Southwest Fiddle Tunes performed by Kateri Lopez & Rosie Hutchinson. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, we learned this music from a young age from our musical and familial tíos. We are doing our best to carry and build upon the cultural and dance traditions of New Mexico and the Southwest.
