Corey Harris is one of the most intellectually ambitious and musically elastic blues artists of his generation. Grounded in acoustic Delta blues, he expanded into a wider African-diaspora practice — New Orleans rhythm, roots reggae, and West African and Malian traditions — a sound he calls "diaspora rock." A MacArthur "Genius" Fellow and featured narrator of Martin Scorsese's Feel Like Going Home, he also holds a Ph.D. in Critical Studies in Music & Sound from the University of Virginia, where he teaches.
