The true story of fast-draws and wild rides, battles with posses, train and bank robberies, a torrid love affair and a new lease on outlaw life in far away Bolivia. It is also a character study of a remarkable friendship between Butch—possibly the most likeable outlaw in frontier history—and his closest associate, the fabled, ever-dangerous Sundance Kid.
"Paul Newman, his dazzling blue eyes never more piercing, is Butch, leader of the notorious Hole In The Wall Gang and a visionary bank robber. Robert Redford, famously held in close-up by director George Roy Hill to establish his presence, broods with all the good nature of the Fastest Gun In The West, staring the camera down and providing a perfect foil—both comic and serious—for Newman.Note-perfect performances, a screenplay steeped in both nostalgia and a timely sense of insight, and anti-heroes you can't help but love: Butch and Sundance may be the most likeable film ever made."
Visit our newest movie night sponsor, Whole Foods on Cerrillos Road, just across the street from the Railyard Park. Pick up a picnic to enjoy on the grass as the movie rolls under the stars on the Park's Performance lawn!
