Based on the perennial best selling novel by Kate DiCamillo, "Because of Winn Dixie" tells the story of a lonely young girl who adopts an orphaned dog she names Winn-Dixie (for the supermarket where she found him). The bond between the girl and her special companion brings together the people in a small Florida town and heals her own troubled relationship with her father.
"'Winn-Dixie' has a way of growing on you... even the most curmudgeonly dog-haters will probably be shedding a few tears."
—San Francisco Chronicle
"A whimsical family film about longing and belonging told with gentle humanity."
Visit our newest movie night sponsor, Whole Foods on Cerrillos Road, just across the street from the Railyard Park. Pick up a picnic to enjoy on the grass as the movie rolls under the stars on the Park's Performance lawn!
