Famed New York City performance artist Lydia Lunch will be doing a short residency at the UNM Department of Theatre and Dance. We'll have a special performance from her at FUSION 708 culminating her visit. Expect participation from local poets and UNM students, making this a special, one-of-a-kind evening!
Lydia Lunch has been touring in a variety of mediums since 1977. In 1982 she began performing and curating spoken word shows in NYC at The Pyramid, The Knitting Factory, The Kitchen, The Performing Garage, La Mama, The Roxy Hotel and numerous other venues. She has appeared live with John Giorno, Hubert Selby Jr, Karen Finley, Jerry Stahl, Wanda Coleman, Henry Rollins, and Last Poet Umar Bin Hassan, to name a few, often arranging shows and booking tours throughout America, Europe and Australia. She has presented workshops for writers throughout the USA and Europe, where she continues to tour with both music and spoken word.
Jessica Helen Lopez is City of Albuquerque Poet Laureate, Emeritus and the host of arts-based PBS series, ¡COLORES!
